Last night i severely messed up my computer trying to install the latest version of CouchDB. I ran into dependency troubles, and then i uninstalled some kind of essential packages that ended up removing all sorts of things that i rather wanted! But this is okay because i needed a push to move up to [...]

Look what happens when you try to log on to Nationwide twice without closing your browser in between times:
How rude! No, you may not close my browser!
*sigh* i guess we have the influence of Microsoft to thank for this kind of intrusion dressed up as helpfulness. We recently had to get a Vista machine for [...]

Beryl provides neat 3D desktop features, and Emerald is a beautiful window decorator.
Acknowledgement: this information came from debianadmin.com. I am reproducing it here for two reasons. Firstly, it's nice to have my ultimate personal Debian setup guide all in one place. Secondly, the page i got it from has so-called "smart-quotes" which would confuse the [...]

Two bits of good news. Firstly, MyChores is finally back up and running, to my great relief. We lost data, but people are being very lovely and just reassuring me they are happy it is back.
Secondly, i just installed Flash player! I have been without it since i re-installed my computer a couple of weeks [...]

On the train [...]

It was absolutely lovely. Met some nice new friends and had a very peaceful time. [...]
