Rechargable batteries

I worked out my running route on Gmaps Pedometer and now i understand. My confusion was due to the assumption that i was facing North when i came out of the alleyway. In actual fact i was heading West! This is the same reason that i find London so confusing - whenever i come out of a tube station i automatically assume i am facing North. Camden Town is completely upside-down compared to what i think it is! Despite knowing this, i still have tremendous difficulty picturing it the way round it really is!

Anyway, that's not what this post is meant to be about!

The batteries in our doorbell died a couple of weeks ago so we have been living without a doorbell. It takes two monstrous Size D batteries, and i was about to buy some cheap throwaway ones until Nat poked my conscience and made me realise i should get rechargables. The trouble is, nothing else i own takes Size D batteries, so i didn't want to buy a charger for Size D when i'll only use it every other year!

We found an excellent solution: a converter from Size AA to Size D! What a genius idea! We use Size AA for pretty much everything so have used rechargable batteries for years! I did, however, treat myself to a new ultra-fast charger and new batteries.

I think the package came today. But the ironic thing is, we didn't hear it - because the doorbell doesn't work! D'oh!! Now my partner has to trek off to the post office depot to pick them up! :(
